ABOUT

Emily is a pianist based in Manchester, UK, classically trained at the prestigious Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM).

Having discovered her passion for piano at the age of 3, she has developed versatile experience performing a wide range of styles spanning traditional Classical solo piano to chamber music and jazz ensembles including Big Bands and Musical Theatre pit bands. Emily has already performed in several international tours, the most recent with band New Order as keyboard player and backing vocalist which took her to Vienna, Austria and Turin, Italy. She has also toured Spain and performed in Cologne Cathedral, Germany. Highlights closer to home include the Bridgewater Hall, Sheffield City Hall, Old Granada Studios and Buxton Opera House, as well as performing for celebrities such as the Emmerdale cast at an event hosted by Emmerdale star Mike Parr.

While Emily is an exceptional soloist she enjoys working with other musicians and collaborates with multiple ensembles on a regular basis, performing pop and jazz music at local venues around Manchester. Locally, Emily has performed in venues including LEAF on Portland Street, the Anthony Burgess Centre, the Whitworth Art Gallery and the Radisson Blue Hotel King Street as well as Bem Brasil Altrincham as weekly resident pianist during 2017. She also performs with and co-manages ETTA Piano and Saxophone Duo with saxophonist Hannah Corcoran and accompanies other instrumentalists and singers.

Emily’s own particular musical influences come from a combination of styles.  To name a few: Classical artists such as Yuja Wang and Maurizio Pollini; Jazz artists such as Horace Silver and Charles Mingus, and Beyoncé and Radiohead from the general ‘Popular Music’ genre. She enjoys attending gigs, shows (especially Musical Theatre) and concerts of all genres around the thriving music scene of Manchester and further afield where the opportunity arises.
